2022 Scientific Consensus Statement released

The 2022 Scientific Consensus Statement on the effects of land-based activities on Great Barrier Reef water quality and ecosystem condition was released on 1 August 2024. C₂O Consulting led the design, development and delivery of the 2022 Scientific Consensus Statement, a process that involved more than 200 experts from Australia and overseas. The 2022 Scientific Consensus Statement is the most rigorous and comprehensive of its kind, and the largest environmental project ever undertaken on the Great Barrier Reef to adopt systematic, evidence-based methods to review the evidence. The evidence base included over 4,000 publications. The 2022 Scientific Consensus Statement was jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments.
